F/T Research Assistant job available
The ArabTrans project has at its heart surveys carried out in 2014 throughout North Africa (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt) plus Jordan and Iraq and aims to contribute to understanding the transformation processes that are taking place in the wake of the Arab Uprisings. The project is funded by the EUs FP7 programme, and includes 12 partners across the Middle East and Europe (find a complete list and an outline of the project at www.arabtrans.eu).
1. Research Assistant (f/t) focusing on Quantitative Analysis, this RA will work with our current quantitative analysis team. Strong skills in Quantitative Research Methods are essential – with particular emphasis on bi- and multi-variate analysis, SPSS, and Excel (STATA would be an advantage). The appointee will contribute to the analysis of core project data – with particular focus on longitudinal analysis – which will feed into project reports on post-Uprisings transformation processes; on reports on youth, media, and gender; and on Euro-Mediterranean relations. This RA will have to be able to work closely with counterparts with expertise in MENA regional politics and models of transition (democratization/authoritarian resilience)
The deadline for applications is September 11, 2015.
Given the proximity of the deadline and the brevity of the posts, anyone interested is strongly encouraged to contact the project director (Dr Andrea Teti, firstname.lastname@example.org) in advance of the deadline to discuss the positions.
