F/T Research Fellow job available
The ArabTransitions project has at its heart surveys carried out in 2014 throughout North Africa (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt) plus Jordan and Iraq and aims to contribute to understanding the transformation processes that are taking place in the wake of the Arab Uprisings. The project is funded by the EU's FP7 programme, and includes 12 partners across the Middle East and Europe (find a complete list and an outline of the project at www.arabtrans.eu).
Research Fellow (f/t): These post will require first and foremost expertise in Middle East North Africa (MENA) politics, specifically in the subfields of Democratization and Authoritarian Resilience. Essential expertise is necessary in orthodox models in these areas (particularly focusing on the politics of transitions and of civil society), although familiarity with critical approaches would be an advantage. Arabic fluency would also be an advantage.
The deadline for applications is September 11, 2015.
Given the proximity of the deadline and the brevity of the posts, anyone interested is strongly encouraged to contact the project director (Dr Andrea Teti, firstname.lastname@example.org) in advance of the deadline to discuss the positions.
